Dematic has an excellent opportunity for an Area Support Technician to join our engineering team on a permanent basis. The role forms part of a wider mobile engineering team who are collectively responsible for undertaking and providing breakdown cover for Dematic installed equipment across various customer sites in the UK. The position will cover for manpower shortages on resident sites and support the Dematic installed MHE & Building Services on customer sites. Due to the mobile nature of the position, you will be travelling out to various customer sites across the UK on a regular basis and providing call-out support for emergency breakdowns. To support this, we provide a company van in addition to all the tools and equipment required to carry out the role.
Responsibilities:
- To travel to an assigned site with the local area as instructed
- Carry out MHE equipment servicing in accordance to the Dematic standards as set out in the equipment manuals
- To complete the relevant service records.
- Resolve within a reasonable time any equipment faults – Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC
- Prioritise system faults
- To ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
- To ensure quality of output
- To complete written reports
- To complete weekly timesheets
Qualifications & Experience:
- ONC/HNC or Full B–Tech in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
- Time Served Maintenance Engineer
- Apprenticed trained
- A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
- Basic understanding of PLC equipment
