I’m supporting a growing engineering and manufacturing business who are looking to bring in a Buyer to join their procurement team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to gain hands-on experience across purchasing, supplier management and project-based procurement within a fast-paced environment.
The Opportunity
You’ll work closely with the Procurement Manager and wider team, supporting day-to-day buying activity while building strong supplier relationships and ensuring materials are delivered on time to support customer projects. It’s a varied role with a mix of operational purchasing and administrative support, giving you a strong foundation in supply chain.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting purchasing activities and managing supplier orders
- Building relationships with suppliers to ensure cost, quality and delivery targets are met
- Assisting with sourcing and onboarding new suppliers
- Monitoring delivery schedules and chasing suppliers where needed
- Supporting procurement administration and maintaining accurate records
What They’re Looking For
- 1–2 years’ experience in purchasing, supply chain or admin within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with suppliers
- Organised, proactive and eager to learn
- Good IT skills (Excel; ERP/MRP exposure a bonus)
- Positive attitude with a team-focused approach
