About the Role
The business is a leading UK-based precision engineering and manufacturing business producing
low volume, high value components
for demanding applications. They are seeking a
Senior Manufacturing Engineer
to help take their production capabilities to the next level – improving accuracy, efficiency, and quality across their advanced machining and assembly operations.
You\’ll play a pivotal role in developing and implementing best practices, leading process improvement projects, and driving \”best in class\” principles through collaboration with R&D, NPI, engineering and procurement teams.
What You\’ll Do
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing techniques.
- Lead projects to enhance cost, quality, and delivery performance across the machine shop and NPI processes.
- Partner with R&D on new product introduction, ensuring designs are optimised for manufacture.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation.
- Evaluate new technologies, justify capital investment, and implement modern tooling and methods.
- Support \”make or buy\” decisions to ensure strategic sourcing and efficiency.
About You
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (BSc/MSc or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a
precision engineering or electro-mechanical environment
. - Strong understanding of
lean principles, problem-solving tools, and process improvement
. - Confident communicator and collaborator with R&D, design, and production teams.
- Skilled in project planning, with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience with CNC machining, SolidWorks CAD/CAM, or metrology is desirable.
