We are partnering with a specialist engineering manufacturer of controlled environment systems used across life sciences, plant growth and regulated industries. They are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a small, highly experienced team — someone who can act as a catalyst for change, bringing fresh ideas and improving design capability.
The Opportunity
This is a varied role combining project delivery and product innovation. You’ll be designing components and systems, working on bespoke projects while also helping shape the next generation of products.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing sheet metal and electro-mechanical assemblies using 3D CAD
- Developing systems involving airflow, heating, cooling and ventilation
- Supporting projects from concept through to installation and commissioning
- Driving value engineering and design for manufacture (DFM)
- Working closely with suppliers, manufacturing and project teams
- Challenging existing designs and improving performance and cost efficiency
What They’re Looking For
- Experience in mechanical design within HVAC, building services, process equipment or similar
- Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor or similar)
- Background in sheet metal or fabricated assemblies
- A proactive mindset - someone who will challenge, improve and innovate
