Overview
We are supporting a well-established, high-tech, machinery build company that are currently looking to add a Process focussed Project Engineer to the structure. They specialise in designing and manufacturing bespoke converting capital equipment that is supplied globally and are a dynamic and growing business – this is an opportunity not to be missed!
The Role
Reporting directly into the Product Director, as a senior role in the business, you will be responsible for overseeing the web converting projects all the way through from the initial design capability, testing, carrying out showroom demos for the customer through to final commissioning which you will be supporting. You will work cross departmentally and be customer facing, so this role offers loads of variety. The company is growing so for the right person this role paves a path of future progression – if you are currently in a role where this is stagnant, this could solve that problem!
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Degree in Process, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent in experience – Apprentice trained or Degree level
- Must have experience within the converting/processing machinery sector, Process wise this could include the likes of laminating, printing, coating, slitting, dying, stretching, embossing etc
- Strong process knowledge of materials – getting tensions correct, solving creasing, speeds etc
- Could have worked up from operating the machinery, be a Process Technician, Project Technician/Engineer or even Technical Sales Engineer – ultimately understand how the machinery works and troubleshooting from a process perspective
- Ideally have hands on commissioning experience of converting machinery, this could be from either a machinery manufacturer or the end user
- Excellent customer facing skills, professional
- Flexible for some (5 or 6 trips per year) international travel for the commissioning aspect of the role
