Are you an ambitious Mechanical Design Engineer looking to develop your career within advanced engineering? Do you want to work on complex mechanical products used in demanding energy environments? We're partnering with a specialist engineering manufacturer that designs and produces mechanical connectors, clamps and engineered products for the global energy sector. They are looking to appoint a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team in Walsall, supporting the development of bespoke, high-integrity products used in critical offshore and industrial applications.
The Opportunity
This role offers excellent exposure to the full engineering lifecycle, working closely with experienced engineers on projects from concept through to manufacture, testing and installation. It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to develop technically within a collaborative engineering environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Producing 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor
- Supporting the design and development of mechanical and hydraulic products
- Producing Bills of Materials (BOMs), design calculations and technical documentation
- Supporting design reviews, FMEA activities and continuous improvement initiatives
- Working closely with manufacturing and testing teams to support product delivery
- Applying Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles
What They’re Looking For
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM discipline
- Experience using Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
- Proactive, adaptable and comfortable working within a small engineering team
- Interest in mechanical product development and engineering problem solving
