A specialist engineering manufacturer is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing team in Walsall. The business designs and manufactures mechanical connectors, clamps and related engineered products used across the global energy sector, supporting critical infrastructure and offshore operations.

The Role

You will support the design and development of complex mechanical products, working closely with senior engineers across the full product lifecycle from concept through to manufacture and testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor
  • Support the design and development of mechanical and hydraulic components
  • Participate in design reviews, FMEA activities and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with manufacturing and testing teams to support product delivery
  • Apply Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) principles

The Person - Skills & Experience

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM discipline
  • Experience using 3D CAD software
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a small engineering team
  • Interest in mechanical product design and engineering development
