A specialist engineering manufacturer is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing team. The business designs and delivers controlled environment systems used across life sciences, manufacturing and regulated industries.
The Role
- You will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical systems, working across both bespoke projects and product improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design sheet metal fabrications and electro-mechanical assemblies using 3D CAD
- Develop systems involving heating, cooling, airflow and environmental control
- Support projects from concept through to completion
- Work closely with suppliers, manufacturing and project teams
- Drive value engineering, cost reduction and design for manufacture (DfM)
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
Skills & Experience
- Experience in mechanical design within HVAC, building services or process equipment
- Strong 3D CAD skills (Solidworks, Inventor or similar)
- Experience designing sheet metal or fabricated components
- Understanding of thermodynamics, airflow or environmental systems would be desirable
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines
