Automotive Researcher
for a highly respected specialist automotive business based in Berkshire. The company works with an international client base of
collectors, enthusiasts and Ultra High Net Worth individuals , supporting some genuinely exceptional and historically significant vehicles. This is an unusual opportunity for someone who combines a
real passion for automotive history with the patience and attention to detail of a great researcher . The Role
At its heart, your job is to uncover and document the story behind each vehicle. You'll research
history, provenance, specification and ownership , bringing together information from multiple sources and ensuring records are accurate, complete and properly maintained. Research sits alongside responsibility for wider vehicle documentation and supporting the Client Experience team. What You'll Be Doing
Research and document the history, provenance, ownership and specification of significant historic vehicles. Review existing information, investigate inconsistencies and track down missing documentation. Maintain accurate vehicle records covering identity, registration, valuation and supporting information. Liaise with clients, suppliers and specialists to gather information and coordinate documentation. Support vehicle projects involving restoration, storage, purchase, sale, transportation and international movements. Who We're Looking For
We're deliberately keeping the background relatively open. You might already work with
historic vehicles, automotive research, archives, museums, auction houses or collector cars . Equally, you could come from research, administration, logistics or another detail-critical environment and have a serious personal interest in automotive history. We'd Like to See
A
genuine interest in historic, classic or collector cars
β this is important. Strong research skills and a natural curiosity for understanding the detail behind a subject. Excellent organisation and attention to detail, particularly when handling complex records. Strong written and verbal communication skills and confidence using databases/CRM systems. Discretion and professionalism when dealing with confidential client, vehicle and commercial information. Experience with vehicle documentation, import/export, customs or international logistics would be useful, but isn't essential. What's on Offer?
