We're recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering and manufacturing business that is recognised for delivering innovative technical solutions across the construction, infrastructure, transportation and energy sectors.

Technical Sales & Support Engineer to join their highly experienced technical team.

The

Role: Reporting to the Technical Sales & Support Manager, you'll become part of a team of Technical Sales & Support Engineers, acting as the first point of contact for customers across German-speaking markets.

You'll provide technical advice and engineering solutions via phone and email, supporting customers from initial enquiry through to solution delivery while building strong long-term relationships.

Key responsibilities include

  • Providing technical sales and engineering support to new and existing customers.
  • Understanding customer requirements and recommending suitable engineering solutions.
  • Responding to technical enquiries via telephone and email.
  • Creating and interpreting engineering drawings using Solid Works or similar CAD software.
  • Liaising with the R&D team on bespoke or complex engineering solutions.
  • Maintaining accurate customer records using Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM.
  • Working closely with internal departments to ensure excellent customer service and project delivery.
  • Supporting customers throughout the sales and technical support process.

About You To be successful in this role, you'll have

  • Fluent or native-level German language skills.
  • An engineering qualification (Degree, HNC or Apprenticeship) in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience reading and producing engineering drawings using Solid Works or similar CAD software.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.
  • Experience working within a technical, engineering or manufacturing environment.

Experience within structural steelwork or static steel applications would be advantageous but is not essential.

Location & Travel This role is primarily based at the company's headquarters in West Yorkshire.

You'll ideally live within a reasonable commuting distance of Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield or Halifax, although candidates based further afield in circa Manchester, Sheffield or York will also be considered, with greater flexibility around office attendance circa only one or two days expected on site.

Travel is minimal and will mainly involve occasional attendance at industry exhibitions and trade shows.
