A global engineering business that designs, manufactures, sells and services process capital equipment is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth across a range of sectors with a particular focus on pharmaceutical and life science markets throughout the UK & Ireland.
The Role
This is a strategic and customer-facing business development role focused on generating new opportunities, developing key accounts and supporting long-term growth across the pharmaceutical and life science sector. You will work closely with senior leadership, service and technical specialists to build market presence and develop customer relationships across the UK & Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new business opportunities across a range of sectors, with a particular focus on the pharmaceutical and life science markets
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to quotation and order placement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and decision makers
- Support sales strategy development and identify new routes to market
The Person - Skills & Experience
- Min. 5 years experience in a technical field sales or business development role
- Strong experience selling into the pharmaceutical, life sciences or similar sector
- Background selling capital equipment, engineered systems and technical solutions
- Proven 'hunter' mentality with a track record of winning new business
- Strong commercial and communication skills with ability to build credibility quickly
- Comfortable working autonomously in a field-based role with regular travel
