Are you an experienced Business Development Manager with experience selling into a range of sectors? A global engineering manufacturer is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to develop sales across South West England & Wales. The business designs and manufactures specialist process equipment supplied to customers operating within a range of sectors including pharmaceutical, lifesciences, automotive, electronics and advanced manufacturing.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected engineering organisation where you'll work closely within technical specialists, engineering teams and senior leadership to grow an established territory whilst developing new business opportunities.

The Role

  • Reporting into the UK leadership team, you'll be responsible for developing long-term customer relationships whilst identifying new projects across your territory.
  • This is a consultative sales role selling engineered solutions rather than commodity products.
  • Develop new business across your territory from new and existing accounts.
  • Manage the sales process from enquiry through quotation to order.
  • Produce accurate sales forecasts and maintain CRM activity.
  • Work closely with engineering, project delivery and service teams.
  • Attend customer meetings, site visits and industry exhibitions.

Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience in Business Development, Technical Sales or Area Sales.
  • Experience selling capital equipment with proven success selling into a range of sectors.
  • Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to winning new business.
