Deltra are working with a major Utilities organisation seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to play a key role in a large-scale Radio Telemetry Replacement Project. This is a high-impact role where you’ll assess current operational technology, shape future-state solutions, and guide the organisation toward a modern, resilient telemetry estate. You’ll work closely with engineering, field delivery, architecture, and subject matter experts to define requirements, evaluate technical options, and support strategic decision-making across a complex, multi-site operational environment.

The role:

  • Assessing the current UHF radio telemetry estate, including infrastructure, processes, data, and technology
  • Conducting gap analysis, risk assessments, and identifying opportunities for modernisation and future-proofing
  • Leading technical and operational feasibility assessments, including proof-of-concept activities
  • Supporting procurement activities, including development of specifications and evaluation of delivery options
  • Producing clear, structured documentation such as As-Is process maps, data catalogues, architecture summaries, and options papers
  • Defining To-Be processes, data strategies, and requirements specifications
  • Working with technical leads to develop architecture patterns and decision frameworks
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment and clarity throughout the project lifecycle
  • Contributing to detailed design activities and supporting the creation of a technical implementation playbook

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong experience in Business and Technical Analysis, including requirements gathering, process mapping, technical specification, and gap analysis
  • Proven background working on physical and wireless communication infrastructure projects
  • Experience delivering complex technical feasibility studies and proofs of concept
  • Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams in a highly technical environment
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills

Desirable experience:

  • Knowledge of SCADA systems
  • Experience within Utilities (Water preferred; Energy considered)
  • Background working across multiple operational sites
  • Experience bridging Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) domains
