About Deltra
Deltra is a specialist recruitment consultancy focused on projects, programmes and change. We work closely with organisations delivering complex transformation and support them with insight‑led, professional recruitment solutions. We value thoughtful delivery over sheer volume and take a measured, professional approach to the way we operate. As the business continues to scale, we are looking to appoint a Practice Lead to help grow and shape one of our core markets within change and transformation.
The Role
This is a senior billing role with clear headroom to take on practice‑level responsibility. Initially, the focus will be on individual performance—building a strong desk, winning work and delivering revenue. As the business grows, and subject to sustained commercial delivery, the role will expand to include leadership and management responsibilities, including hiring, mentoring and performance management. This role suits someone who wants to remain commercially active but is also motivated by helping shape a team and a market.
What the Role Involves
- Owning and developing a change and transformation practice area
- Winning new business through senior‑level B2B business development
- Building and managing long‑term client relationships
- Running a high‑performing desk with responsibility for revenue, pipeline and forecasting
- Advising clients on hiring strategy, market conditions and role design
- Delivering end‑to‑end recruitment across contract and/or permanent roles
- Playing an increasing role in hiring decisions as the practice scales
- Supporting appraisals, mentoring and standards across the practice (as the role evolves)
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Strong background in B2B sales or recruitment, ideally in a specialist market
- Proven ability to consistently deliver revenue and manage a mature desk
- Commercial judgement and confidence operating with senior stakeholders
- Comfortable being accountable for individual performance and results
- Organised, disciplined and able to operate with autonomy
Desirable
- Experience operating at Senior / Principal / Practice Lead level
- Previous exposure to team leadership, mentoring or informal management
- Background in change, transformation, technology or professional services recruitment
Behaviours & Approach
- Commercial, delivery‑focused and accountable
- Consultative and credible with clients and candidates
- Comfortable balancing billing responsibility with wider practice development
- Straightforward, professional and measured in approach
- High standards around quality, follow‑through and decision‑making
- Motivated by long‑term desk and practice growth
What You’ll Receive
- Competitive basic salary with a competitive, achievable commission structure
- Clear route to increased leadership and management responsibility
- A role with genuine influence as the business scales
- Hybrid working and a grown‑up, low‑ego culture
- Support and autonomy to build a practice properly
Additional benefits include
- Team socials and company events
- Performance‑based incentive schemes
- Lunch clubs and recognition for sustained delivery
- The opportunity to help shape hiring, standards and progression within the business
Why Deltra?
This role is suited to someone who wants more than just a title. At Deltra, progression into leadership is tied to delivery, judgement and consistency.
