I am looking for a Cyber Security Engineer for a key banking client based in Liverpool Street. This role will be part of the bank's cyber defence centre. The team is responsible for delivering and enhancing high-quality cyber security technology solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Deploy and manage cybersecurity tools across hybrid (on-prem and cloud) environments
  • Detect and respond to threats, analyze incidents, and remediate vulnerabilities
  • Partner with infrastructure and DevOps teams to embed security into CI/CD workflows and infrastructure-as-code processes
  • Optimize the use of security platforms including endpoint protection, access control, logging, and cloud security tools
  • Maintain high standards of compliance, documentation, and reporting aligned with industry frameworks
  • Contribute to governance, risk, and compliance initiatives by enforcing policy and best practice

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in a cybersecurity engineering or related technical role
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities in systems, networking, and cloud environments
  • Proven hands-on experience with tools like PAM, EDR, CASB, SIEM, DLP, email filtering, and vulnerability management
  • Proficient in cloud services, especially in environments using virtual machines, identity management, web apps, and networking components (e.g., virtual networks, security groups, load balancers)
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, and integration with CI/CD pipelines via platforms like GitLab
  • Scripting and automation skills in Python, PowerShell, or similar languages
  • Strong grasp of IT infrastructure and security practices across operating systems, databases, hardware, and networks
  • Professional cybersecurity certifications, such as GCFE, GREM, GNFA, GCFA, or GCIH, are required

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in cybersecurity roles within finance, banking, or other regulated industries
  • Understanding of payment systems or familiarity with accounting-related processes
  • Knowledge of industry-standard frameworks such as NIST or CIS

This is a permanent role offering a hybrid working model with 2-3 days per week in the office, and a salary of up to £80,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package.
