This role is offered on a UK employment contract.

Candidates must be based in the UK as we are unable to support remote working from outside the country due to local employment and tax legislation.

We are the tech company behind the media and sporting moments that matter.

We create the digital experiences of tomorrow for hundreds of the world’s biggest broadcasters, telcos, and sports organizations, and we're the only company bringing together OTT and digital platforms, data, graphics, officiating, and strategy services, all under one roof.

Our Revenue team grows those relationships – expanding what existing clients use across our product portfolio and opening conversations with new ones.

A great deal of work goes into every one of those pitches, and the strongest ones start with a clear understanding of the customer's business and a story that's built around it.

As Marketplace Strategist, reporting directly to our Chief Revenue Officer, you'll become our leading voice on industry dynamics and shape what we bring to each customer.

You'll own priority opportunities from the first idea to the room where we present, and you'll join those pitches yourself, bringing vision, energy and a sharp focus on the consumer.

Alongside that, you'll set the quality bar for the proposals the team sends out every week, elevating each one before it reaches a customer.

You’ll work closely with our Digital Strategy & Growth Services team, who lead specific project work with prospects and clients and partner with clients on their growth marketing strategy in-life.

And you'll be AI-native: AI tools are part of how you research, write and get up to speed on a new customer, every day.

Responsibilities

  • Market and customer insight
  • Become our go-to thought leader on industry dynamics across sport, media and entertainment, shaping how the business sees the market and where it’s heading.
  • Research each target customer's business: commercial performance, audience trends, strengths, weak spots and competitive landscape.
  • Build a clear view of what each customer needs from us, ahead of upsell conversations and new-business pursuits.
  • Pitch strategy and storytelling
  • Own priority pitches end to end, from ideation to presentation, often within a two-week window.
  • Start from a high-level brief, combine your research with our existing material, and bring it together in the most compelling way for that customer.
  • Build growth-focused messaging centered on the customer outcomes we deliver.
  • Show our innovation and our application of AI strategies to deliver compelling results for clients.
  • Presenting and evangelizing
  • Join pitches alongside Sales and Solutions colleagues, bringing a different angle: the vision, the market view and the consumer behind the product.
  • Act as an evangelist for our point of view with prospects and clients, in the room and on screen.
  • Material review and quality control
  • Review proposals across the team day to day and elevate them before they go out, so every one is sharp, accurate and specific to its audience.
  • Give clear, constructive critique to the people who produced the material, helping turn solid work into targeted work.
  • Make recommendations on how our overall messaging frameworks for prospects and clients should evolve.
  • Work closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Solutions Design, Product and Digital Strategy & Growth Services, adding strategic depth without duplicating their work.
  • Bring senior stakeholders with strong views, inside the business and at our clients, round to new ways of positioning when the evidence supports it.
  • Build trusted relationships across the Revenue team, so colleagues bring you in early rather than at the final review.

Requirements

This is the experience that will help you hit the ground running. We see all of it as important, and we’ll weigh it as a whole rather than as a strict checklist.

  • 8+ years in strategy, insight or pitch roles within a digital-first business – for example a digital publisher, an OTT or streaming platform, a broadcaster, a sports marketing agency or a strategic consultancy – ideally in sport, media or entertainment.
  • Demonstrable ability to research a business and its competitors, and turn the findings into a clear, actionable recommendation.
  • Strong storytelling skills, with pitches you have owned from ideation to presentation for senior client audiences, and the confidence to present them yourself.
  • A portfolio of strategy or pitch work you can walk us through (anonymized where needed).
  • Experience reviewing other people's work and giving specific, constructive feedback that improves the result.
  • A track record of influencing senior, strong-minded stakeholders and shaping the conversation toward the right outcome.
  • Familiarity with B2B sales cycles, including upsell and new-business pursuits.
  • AI-native ways of working: extensive, hands-on use of AI tools in research, analysis and content creation.
  • Solid understanding of UX/UI principles and what makes a digital product experience work well for its audience.
  • Ability to balance deep work on a priority opportunity with fast, high-quality reviews across many proposals.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to travel on an ad hoc basis.
  • Who Thrives Here

This is a senior, newly created role with a direct line to our Chief Revenue Officer, sitting outside individual sales and product teams so its only priority is the quality of what we bring to customers.

You'll have real influence over how we position ourselves in the market, and the independence to take a high-level brief, go away, and come back with a new way of telling our story.

People who do well here are digital-first and creative, and they love building the story.

They dig into a customer's business before they open a slide deck, and they bring ideas rather than requirements.

They give honest feedback in a way that strengthens working relationships, bring strong-minded colleagues and clients with them, and use AI to move faster without lowering the bar.

They work well with colleagues from different countries, disciplines and backgrounds, and they make the people around them better at what they present.

  • Process and what to expect

  • Case study presentation
  • shortlisted candidates receive a brief and present their response to a panel from our Revenue team. We'll also ask you to walk us through examples from your portfolio.
  • If any of these formats would be difficult for you, tell us – we adjust regularly and can usually accommodate.
