We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their early development and learning. Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering engaging activities that support children's developmental needs in line with early childhood education standards
- Supervising children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being
- Building strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
- Organising daily routines, including mealtimes, playtimes, and rest periods
- Monitoring and recording children's progress and behaviour, providing feedback to parents and senior staff
- Assisting with the organisation of nursery resources and maintaining a clean, safe environment
- Supporting new staff members through mentoring and leadership roles when required
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Driving responsibilities may include transporting children safely to outings or activities as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or childcare setting
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide both children and team members effectively
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to organise activities that promote learning through play
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Early Years or equivalent are desirable
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties
