The hotel is opposite the East of England Showground and close to the A1 for an easy commute.
Your role as Sous Chef will be to support the Executive Head Chef to lead our dynamic kitchen and take the hotel to a whole new level in all food related operations.
By crafting delectable dishes to tickle the taste buds, mentoring junior chefs, and sharing your valuable knowledge and experience, you will help create memorable dining experiences that delight the senses and elevate our guests' stay!
What you will do
- Create and execute innovative and exquisite menus, preparing high quality and visually appealing dishes.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet and exceed guest expectations.
- Train, mentor, and guide junior chefs, fostering a collaborative and growth-orientated kitchen environment.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with regulations, ensuring all documentation is in order.
- Assist in managing kitchen inventory, minimizing waste, and controlling costs.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills managing kitchen operations during the absence of the Executive Chef.
- Support menu development and participate in tastings to introduce new dishes.
- What we’re looking for
- 3-5 years’ experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
- Recognized qualification in culinary skills and food safety.
- Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong expertise in various cooking techniques, culinary trends, and menu development.
- Strong communication skills to interact with kitchen staff, management, and suppliers.
- Ability to plan rota’s according to the business needs, coordinate training within the department and ensure full compliance of health and safety.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
