Job Summary

  • Position: Catering Assistant (Carmarthenshire County Council, Newcastle Emlyn)
  • Contract: Permanent Part Time
  • Salary: £13.67 per hour
  • Hours: 1 x 9 hours / 1 x 20 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Cook in preparing nutritious and appetising meals
  • Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene and Health and Safety standards
  • Set up and clear tables and perform general cleaning duties

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Good communication and people skills, ability to build good relationships with adults
  • Knowledge of basic food safety (advantage, not essential); full training will be provided
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to assist with other catering duties
  • Basic conversational Welsh (Level 2); reasonable support will be provided upon appointment
  • Required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
