Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking an experienced, motivated and forward-thinking professional to lead its non-housing Property Maintenance Service. This is a senior leadership role with real influence and responsibility, providing strategic and operational direction for the maintenance and performance of a diverse public estate supporting education, frontline services and communities across the county.
The successful candidate will lead service delivery, performance and continuous improvement, taking strategic ownership of significant budgets, contracts and resources. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and professional teams to ensure effective risk management and value for money, while driving innovation and service modernisation.
You will lead and develop a large multidisciplinary workforce of professional, technical and support staff, setting clear priorities and high standards while embedding a culture of professionalism, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Essential requirements include:
- A degree-level qualification in a built-environment discipline or equivalent professional experience
- Significant experience managing property maintenance services and contractors
- Strong leadership, financial management and compliance expertise
- Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills
