Come and join our team. If you are passionate about cooking and have a good work ethic, we would love to hear from you because our self‑motivated and dedicated team requires a Catering Assistant. You will work 6.25 hours per week / 1.25 hours per day, Monday to Friday, term time only (38 weeks). We offer an ‘annualised’ pay scheme so that staff who work term time receive pay over 52 weeks. Working for us, you will have the opportunity to work in a busy and exciting environment. You will be responsible for assisting our Cook in preparing nutritious and appetising meals whilst ensuring compliance with all aspects of Food Hygiene and Health and Safety. Other duties will include the setting up and clearing away of tables and general cleaning duties.
Key responsibilities and qualifications:
- The ability to build good relationships with adults and children based on mutual respect.
- Knowledge of basic food safety. This would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given.
- Good communication and people skills.
- The ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
You will need:
- A positive attitude and the willingness to learn new skills.
- Flexibility and the willingness to assist with other catering duties.
