Come and join our team We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Teacher of Textiles for maternity cover. The successful candidate will teach Textiles across all Key Stages, with Years 7, 8 & 9 Textiles taught through Design & Technology, alongside delivering Textiles through Art & Design in Years 10 & 11 and Art Textiles in Years 12 & 13. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and creative practitioner who is passionate about inspiring students through the exciting and diverse possibilities offered by Textiles. They will have high expectations of all learners and be committed to developing students’ creativity, practical skills, critical thinking and confidence. The Governing Body is committed to appointing a successful candidate who is:

About the School

Ysgol Dyffryn Aman is a thriving, successful Category 2B bilingual secondary school, located at the edge of the Brecon Beacons in Carmarthenshire. We are an 11–18 school, showing healthy growth in pupil numbers in recent years, educating approximately 1,500 pupils in total, with over 200 within our dynamic Sixth Form.

About the Role

This is an incredibly exciting and important time for education provision at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman, and we hope that you will wish to support the school in ensuring consistently outstanding outcomes for our students. The successful candidate will join a creative and committed team and will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of Textiles across the school. The role provides the opportunity to inspire learners from Key Stage 3 through to A Level, supporting them to develop their practical, creative and analytical skills. At Key Stage 3, Textiles is taught through Design & Technology, with pupils developing their designing and making skills, technical knowledge, creativity and understanding of textile materials and processes. At Key Stage 4, the successful candidate will deliver Textiles through Art & Design, while at Key Stage 5 there will be the opportunity to deliver Art Textiles at A Level. The ability to inspire students through a broad range of textile techniques, processes and contemporary practices would be highly desirable.
