The successful candidate will hold overall responsibility for the preparation and management of joinery fit-out tender estimates across multiple sectors. This is a hybrid position, with the flexibility to work four days remotely and one day per week from the office alongside the senior management team. The role requires a strong understanding of joinery and the technical ability to produce commercially competitive estimates within our marketplace, supporting the continued growth and development of the company.

As a company, we predominantly operate within the high-end commercial, residential and hospitality joinery fit-out sectors, with some projects also including installation elements that will require estimating. The successful candidate will be supported in developing their knowledge of Contract Controller, the primary software platform used by Delta Pelio for estimating, cost analysis and project management.

Key Tasks

  • Monitor new enquiries with the directors and office team to ensure tender deadlines are met and that the highest level of service is always maintained.
  • Work alongside the project managers on estimating and variation costing, supporting the development of their commercial skills.
  • Review and validate design output within the Delta Pelio design team against commercial allowances.
  • Attend regular meetings via Teams Video or in the office to work closely with the Managing Director ensuring monthly tender targets are being met.
  • Produce a biweekly and monthly report with the Managing Director for tender status reports for negotiating sales.
  • Report to the Managing Director to discuss new or live estimates and project designs as required.
  • Build relationships with new clients and identify new opportunities for the growth of the Company.
  • Regular meetings with management to discuss new projects, estimates and timelines.
  • Work strategically improving systems and processes to hit commercial targets to aid the success of the company.
  • Carrying out site surveys where required, meeting clients and attending meetings regarding costs and/or designs.

Main Job Specification

This position requires a commercially aware and technically experienced estimator who can operate with a high level of autonomy while working closely with senior management and directors. Communication will take place through email, telephone, video conferencing and face-to-face meetings as required. The role combines detailed estimating, strategic planning and client engagement, ensuring tender submissions are accurate, aligned with design intent and commercially viable.

The successful candidate will be responsible for promptly raising and managing design queries and RFIs with clients and consultants, maintaining clear communication throughout the tender process. The role will also support business growth and contribute towards the continuous improvement of internal systems and processes.

Desired Skills & Expertise

  • A strong understanding and ability to use AutoCAD for estimating or drawing simple details for clients as design suggestions.
  • A strong understanding and experience of reading drawings and proposing more efficient/suitable methods where these can be applied.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Process driven with excellent time management skills.

A company laptop will be provided with secure access to the company server and required project information. A flexible and professional approach is expected to meet the needs of the business, and occasional additional hours may be required during peak periods to support operational and commercial demands.
