We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to manage electrical and electronic commodities within a regulated environment. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of a portfolio of commodities—initially focusing on Electronic, Electrical and connected items—ensuring suppliers deliver to standards required by our customers and internal stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Select and onboard new suppliers aligned with our commodity strategy.
  • Provide timely pricing and lead‑time responses to support customer quotations.
  • Negotiate and award supplier contracts, ensuring full compliance with commercial, planning, scheduling and New Product Introduction requirements.
  • Validate and verify new supplier parts to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Support the Materials and Planning team with ongoing purchasing and issue resolution.
  • Work closely with suppliers, engineering and production to drive swift resolution of quality concerns.
  • Monitor supplier performance and develop improvement plans where needed.
  • Ensure supplier adherence to ISO9001 and other relevant standards.
  • Support cost estimation and ensure financial accuracy according to company standards.

About You

You Must Have:

  • Experience managing Electronic, Electrical or related commodities in a regulated, design responsible environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering requirements and supplier flow‑down.
  • Ability to audit suppliers and coach them through improvement initiatives.
  • Skilled negotiator with strong analytical capability.
  • Confident communicator able to simplify complex issues into clear summaries.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Ability to travel (20% domestic, 10% European).
  • Full, clean driving licence.

You Should Have:

  • Experience in regulated sectors (Nuclear, Defence, Oil & Gas, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Basic financial understanding.
  • Experience managing supplier quality issues.
  • CIPS Level 3+ (or working towards).
  • Experience in a design-and-build manufacturing organisation.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have:

  • Understanding of international trade rules.
  • Experience with MRP2, Lean MRP or Demand‑Driven Supply Chain concepts.
  • ISO9001 Internal Auditor qualification.
