Mechanical Design of products, manage all the Engineering activity related to the mechanical products in our portfolio in team with existing staff. Provide engineering support for customer-specific variants, legacy product improvements, and continuous quality enhancements.
KEY VALUE ADDING DELIVERABLES:Preferably coming from regulated industry e.g. Aerospace & Defence, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Automation & Instrumentation.
THE PERSON TO FILL THE VACANCY MUST HAVE:- Using robust mechanical engineering principles, design safety critical equipment for the nuclear, defence and oil and gas industries.
- Design components for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA), working closely with machining, sheet-metal, casting, rubber moulding, welding, and assembly operations.
- Participate in formal design control activities: design reviews, risk assessments, failure analysis (FMEA - to reduce and solve problems), and configuration management.
- Experienced in developing 3D CAD models (Creo Direct Modelling) and detailed engineering drawings, maintaining fully traceable design documentation including BOMs, tolerance analyses, design specifications, test plans, ECRs, and records.
- Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of international standards.
- Support prototype builds and validation testing (DVT), including performance, environmental, thermal, ingress protection, shock/vibration, and safety compliance.
- Ability to use structured problem-solving tools (eg. 8D, including 5-Why, Ishikawa, FMEA).
- Knowledge of hazardous area certification (ATEX/IECEx), PED, SIL assessment, and functional safety principles.
- Direct experience in process instrumentation (pressure/level/temperature devices) or similar engineered products.
- Strong understanding of materials used in harsh environments (stainless steels, duplex alloys, elastomers, ceramics, coatings).
Full product lifecycle design and development experience.
