About the Company
We are a specialist consultancy in the marine and coastal engineering sector, delivering projects such as coastal protection works, waterfront developments, reclamation, ports, and nearshore infrastructure. As our portfolio grows in Singapore and the region, we are looking for a dedicated Drafting & BIM Lead to strengthen our digital engineering and design production capabilities. Role Overview
The Drafting & BIM Lead will guide and coordinate a team of drafters and BIM modellers, ensuring the delivery of accurate, high-quality drawings and models across multiple projects. You will work closely with engineering design teams to translate design concepts into precise drafting deliverables. This is an office-based leadership role in Singapore, suitable for someone seeking both team management responsibilities and technical influence. Candidates with strong drafting/BIM backgrounds from non-marine sectors but with solid Singapore project experience are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of drafters and BIM modellers.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure drafting workloads are effectively managed.
- Promote knowledge exchange and upskilling within the team.
- Review and approve drawings, models, and detailing prepared by the team.
- Uphold quality, accuracy, and consistency of deliverables across all projects.
- Implement and maintain drafting and modelling best practices.
- Drive BIM implementation and digital delivery practices within the organization.
- Develop and maintain BIM and CAD standards, templates, libraries, and workflows.
- Facilitate BIM coordination and clash detection exercises with engineering teams.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to understand design intent and translate it into clear drafting outputs.
- Participate in project discussions to clarify deliverables, timeline, and technical requirements.
- Ensure drawings and documentation adhere to Singapore’s regulatory and authority submission requirements (e.g., BCA, JTC, LTA, PUB, SCDF, MPA).
- Liaise with external consultants, contractors, or authorities on drafting and BIM-related matters when required.
- Seek opportunities to introduce efficiencies, automation tools, and improved modelling techniques.
- Support continuous development of internal digital engineering capabilities.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering, Architecture, BIM Management, or related field.
- BIM-related certifications (Revit, Civil 3D, etc.) are advantageous.
Experience
- 10 years of drafting and/or BIM modelling experience within the Singapore market.
- Strong experience working on multidisciplinary or infrastructure projects.
- Prior leadership or team coordination experience is required.
- Marine and coastal sector experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Candidates from civil, structural, geotechnical, LTA projects, utilities, or architectural backgrounds are welcome to apply.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in key CAD/BIM platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, InfraWorks, or equivalent.
