The Company

Delta Live is a leading provider of audio and technical production services for some of the world's most iconic events. With over 30 years of experience, we specialise in designing and delivering bespoke sound solutions that bring creative visions to life. From global ceremonies and major cultural festivals to high-profile corporate events, our reputation is built on innovation, technical excellence, and collaboration. At Delta Live, we pride ourselves on pushing the boundaries of live production and creating unforgettable experiences for audiences worldwide. As part of a larger International group of companies, we continue to invest in our people, our processes, and our capability to deliver at the highest level.

The Role

This is a senior, technically-led Project Manager role within Delta Live's Projects Team. The primary focus of the role is technical delivery, ensuring complex live events are designed, planned, and executed to the highest standards across Delta Live's accredited venues and wider project portfolio. The Technical Project Manager owns events end-to-end, from initial client brief through to onsite delivery and debrief. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with structured project management, requiring strong judgement in live environments, deep understanding of production workflows, and the confidence to lead teams onsite. This role is suited to an experienced technical professional who has progressed into project leadership and remains comfortable being close to the technical detail, particularly in audio and AV-led environments.

Specific roles and responsibilities

  • Own the technical delivery of multiple concurrent live event projects, typically within accredited venues and high-profile cultural or corporate settings.
  • Translate client briefs into robust, technically sound event solutions.
  • Design and specify audio, AV, lighting and staging systems appropriate to each event.
  • Retain hands-on technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle and step into technical operation onsite where required.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients and venues.
  • Lead technical planning meetings and provide clear, confident advice.
  • Build trusted client relationships through reliable delivery and strong communication.
  • Produce equipment specifications, quotes, schedules and project documentation.
  • Develop and manage realistic project timelines, identifying risks and dependencies.
  • Monitor project costs and support margin control in line with agreed budgets.
  • Prepare and own RAMS and related H&S documentation.
  • Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, venue requirements and Delta Live standards.
  • Take responsibility for safe systems of work onsite.
  • Lead onsite delivery including load-in, set-up, operation and de-rig.
  • Supervise freelancers, subcontractors and in-house crew.
  • Act as the senior technical authority onsite, resolving issues calmly and decisively in live show conditions.
  • Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to ensure equipment is prepared, tested and dispatched correctly.
  • Review kit lists for accuracy, completeness and presentation.
  • Oversee returns and ensure damages or shortages are logged promptly.
  • Stay current with industry developments, products and best practice.
  • Identify opportunities to improve technical quality, processes and efficiency.
  • Provide constructive feedback to managers on capability gaps or development needs.

Must-have

  • Proven experience delivering live events in a technical production environment.
  • Strong hands-on technical background, particularly in audio and AV.
  • Experience owning projects end-to-end, not just supporting delivery.
  • Ability to lead teams onsite and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Competence producing RAMS and managing onsite H&S responsibility.
  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD preferred) and HireTrack or similar systems.
  • Financial awareness and experience working within project budgets.
  • Experience across lighting and staging in addition to audio and AV.

Personal Attributes

  • Technically curious and detail-focused.
  • Calm, pragmatic and decisive in live environments.
  • Comfortable balancing planning with hands-on delivery.
  • Flexible and willing to work irregular hours and travel as required.
