We are looking for a Pay and Benefits Specialist on a part time basis to deliver accurate and timely payroll, benefits, and pension administration services, ensuring employees are paid correctly and in line with statutory and contractual obligations.
Working with external providers, including payroll and pension administrators, and liaising with staff across all levels of the organisation to support a smooth and efficient service.
- What you'll be doing
- Prepare and process the weekly and monthly payrolls from start to finish, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely approvals
- Compile and submit all payroll-related returns, including those to HMRC, and produce statutory and year-end documents such as P60's and P45's.
- Administer employee benefit schemes and respond to payroll and benefits-related queries from employees, providers and auditors, providing guidance where appropriate.
- Manage pensions administration including monthly and year-end returns, employee notifications and provider liaison for multiple pension schemes including Local Government.
- Prepare and distribute regular and ad hoc payroll reports, reconciliations and analysis to internal stakeholders.
- What we are looking for
- Relevant payroll or accountancy qualifications or demonstrable prior experience.
- Proven experience in delivering end-to-end payroll services including RTI and payrolling of benefits
- Experience in pension administration, including auto-enrolment and submission of monthly returns.
- Proficient in IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel and other payroll-related software.
- Highly accurate with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
Please note the office expectancy of this role is as follows: This role may require you in full time initially for a period of training before operating a hybrid working model where you will be required in a minimum of 1 day a week.
