We have an exciting opportunity in our Maintenance team as an Assistant Engineering Manager where you will be supporting our Engineering Manager in ensuring our hotel’s building, plant, equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards. You will play a key role in leading the day-to-day maintenance operation, supporting the team and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our guests and colleagues.

The Role

  • Supporting the Engineering Manager with the day-to-day management of the Engineering and Maintenance operation.
  • Supervising the allocation and distribution of repair work orders, ensuring work is completed promptly and to a high standard.
  • Planning, scheduling and evaluating preventative maintenance programmes to ensure the hotel’s facilities and equipment remain in excellent condition.
  • Overseeing the physical plant, including refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems.
  • Inspecting and evaluating the condition of the hotel’s facilities, identifying maintenance requirements and arranging appropriate repairs or improvements.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date maintenance, Health & Safety and compliance records.
  • Co-ordinating additional services such as painting, repairs, renovations and the replacement or furnishings and equipment when required.
  • Assisting with the selection and ordering of engineering equipment, supplies and other items required for the smooth running of the hotel.
  • Supporting the training of staff in safety procedures.

What do you need to apply?

We are looking for an experienced and proactive engineering professional with previous experience within a hotel or hospitality environment. You will have a strong understanding of building services, general maintenance and Health & Safety with the ability to identify issues and find practical solutions. You will be organised and proactive with strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and other departments.
