About Us:

Delta Forest UK is a forestry company specializing in large scale tree planting. Our aim is to help create and nurture the UK\'s forests. We are a small company, part of the larger Delta Forest group which includes forestry companies in France and Iceland.

The Role:

We are seeking a highly competent and dedicated Forestry Manager to join our team. You will be instrumental in coordinating multiple tree planting projects and ensuring high standards of quality are maintained. This role involves managing a diverse team and implementing planting strategies aligned with best forestry practices. You will serve as the crucial link between our planting crews on the ground and our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and inspire a diverse team of planters
  • Successfully coordinate multiple tree planting projects, handling timelines and budgets
  • Implement planting plans to match clients’ needs
  • Approach challenges with a proactive mindset, demonstrating the ability to adapt and find effective solutions under pressure
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients, ensuring clarity and transparency throughout all project phases
  • Oversee tree planting operations from November to April
  • Manage young forest maintenance work (brushing, pruning, mowing etc) from May to September
  • Ensure all work adheres to health and safety guidelines including writing risk assessments
  • Manage and maintain our fleet of vehicles, including trucks and ATVs
  • Attend pre-planting site visits and meetings
  • Collaborate with the Operations Director to create project quotes and manage budgets
  • Manage, maintain and distribute equipment

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proven project management experience
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience in tree planting and forestry management
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., EFAW +F certificate, ATV ticket)
  • Full and clean driving licence
  • Ability to work independently, remotely and flexibly
  • Excellent time management skills
