Our client, a leading GCC Pension Fund based in the Middle East, is seeking an experienced investment performance and analytics professional to support the continued development and enhancement of their investment performance, analytics and reporting capabilities. You will play a key role in strengthening the organisation’s performance measurement and analytical framework, with responsibility for analysing investment outcomes, developing executive insights and supporting data-driven investment decision-making. The role will involve working across investment teams, risk, operations, technology and external partners to enhance performance analytics, reporting infrastructure, automation capabilities and operating models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investment Performance Analysis: Analyse portfolio performance across public and private markets, evaluating returns, benchmarks, attribution, contribution, exposures and key drivers of investment outcomes to support CIO, CFO and Investment Committee decision-making.
- Performance Measurement & Attribution: Develop and enhance performance measurement frameworks, including benchmark analysis, contribution and attribution methodologies, return calculations, performance investigations and manager evaluation analysis.
- Portfolio Analytics & Investment Insights: Deliver quantitative analysis across multi-asset portfolios, including exposure analysis, portfolio decomposition, asset allocation insights and evaluation of investment decisions.
- Forecasting, Scenario & Liquidity Analysis: Support forward-looking analytics including return forecasts, contribution analysis, what-if scenarios, cash-flow projections and liquidity stress testing across public and private market investments.
- Risk Analytics & Portfolio Modelling: Develop ex-ante analytics including factor analysis, tracking error, stress testing and portfolio sensitivity analysis across key market drivers including rates, credit, FX, equity and inflation.
- Technology & Process Transformation: Support the implementation and optimisation of performance systems, data platforms and analytical tools, improving scalability, automation, controls and data quality across the investment function.
- Data & Reporting Automation: Build and enhance analytical workflows using tools such as SQL, Python and BI platforms to improve reporting efficiency, reconciliation processes and the quality of investment insights.
- Stakeholder Management: Work closely with investment teams, risk, operations, technology, external managers, consultants and service providers to enhance performance capabilities and deliver effective analytical solutions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years relevant experience within investment performance, portfolio analytics, investment analytics, risk analytics or a related institutional investment function.
- Demonstrated experience analysing investment performance, attribution, benchmarks, exposures and portfolio analytics across multi-asset institutional portfolios.
- Experience producing executive, CIO, CFO or Investment Committee-level materials, with the ability to translate complex analytics into clear investment insights.
- Experience supporting the implementation, enhancement or transformation of investment performance systems, data platforms or analytical processes.
- Strong understanding of performance measurement methodologies, portfolio analytics, risk analytics and investment data across public and private markets.
- Experience within a leading asset owner, pension fund, sovereign wealth fund, asset manager, custodian bank or investment technology provider is strongly preferred.
- Strong technical capability using SQL, Python, BI tools or similar analytical platforms, with experience automating investment analytics and reporting processes.
- Exposure to platforms such as SimCorp, Bloomberg PORT, FactSet, Eagle, Aladdin, BarraOne, Clearwater or similar investment analytics systems would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior investment stakeholders and technology teams.
