Associate Director, Venture Capital Fund Investments, GCC Sovereign Wealth Fund (Role based in [...] in London

Our client, a global top-10 Sovereign Wealth Fund, is seeking an experienced investment professional to join their Venture Capital Fund Investments team, based in the Middle East. You will play a key role in executing the fund's global venture capital investment strategy, with a primary focus on fund investments. You will be responsible for the full investment lifecycle, including manager sourcing, fund selection, due diligence, execution, and ongoing portfolio management across leading and emerging venture capital managers globally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investment Strategy: Support the development and execution of the global venture capital fund investment strategy, ensuring alignment with the broader private markets portfolio.
• Fund Sourcing & Selection: Source, evaluate, and recommend leading venture capital fund managers across geographies, sectors, and stages, including established and emerging GPs.
• Due Diligence & Execution: Lead commercial, investment, and operational due diligence on prospective fund commitments, prepare investment recommendations, and coordinate execution alongside legal and internal stakeholders.
• Portfolio Construction & Monitoring: Contribute to portfolio construction through manager selection, diversification, pacing, and vintage management while monitoring existing fund investments and maintaining relationships with GPs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with venture capital managers, industry participants, and internal investment committees, acting as a trusted representative of the organisation.
• Market Intelligence: Maintain a deep understanding of global venture capital markets, emerging technologies, sector trends, fundraising activity, and the evolving GP landscape to identify attractive investment opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 12 years relevant experience in venture capital fund investing, fund-of-funds, or institutional allocator roles.
• Demonstrated experience conducting venture capital manager research, fund selection, due diligence, and portfolio construction.
• Strong understanding of the global venture capital ecosystem across leading managers, emerging GPs, and key innovation sectors.
• Existing relationships within the venture capital manager community are highly desirable.
• Experience working within a sovereign wealth fund, pension fund, endowment, family office, fund-of-funds, or other institutional investment platform is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, commercial, and communication skills, with experience preparing investment committee materials and presenting investment recommendations.
