Our client, a leading Global Hedge Fund, seeks a Senior Portfolio Manager to lead a new Private Credit Investment Strategy focused on credit, including asset-backed lending, structured credit, and direct lending.
The Senior Portfolio Manager will have full P&L responsibility for a discretionary credit strategy. The strategy will target complex credit opportunities across developed markets, with flexibility to consider select emerging market exposure. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to generate sustainable alpha through creative sourcing, rigorous risk management, and disciplined capital deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute an investment strategy within illiquid and structured credit markets, including asset-backed lending, direct lending, and bespoke private credit opportunities.
- Originate, underwrite, and manage investments across multiple structures and jurisdictions.
- Apply deep market experience to construct a diversified, high-conviction portfolio aligned with fund risk and liquidity parameters.
- Collaborate with senior management to shape the platform’s broader credit investment initiatives.
- Contribute to strategic growth by mentoring junior team members and refining investment frameworks.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in credit investing, ideally within hedge funds, private credit funds, or proprietary trading desks.
- Proven ability to manage and scale complex credit portfolios in developed markets.
- Expertise across private credit, direct lending, and asset-backed lending.
- Strong network for originating and structuring differentiated deal flow.
