Software Systems Architect

At our East Kilbride site, we develop a range of battery chargers used in various settings including forklift trucks, industrial equipment, and warehouse automation systems. We operate in a growing industry with a bright future as legacy vehicles transition to electrification.

Your Challenge

• Support Junior Engineers with their technical challenges.
• Support System Engineering.
• Selection of microcontroller and memory devices.
• Enable reuse of pre-developed software solutions.
• Support efforts to acquire new customers by providing effort estimates.
• Develop high-quality, accurate, and concise software requirements.
• Software System Architecture Design
• Develop software concepts across microcontroller platforms.
• Create proof of concepts for software systems.
• Software Engineering
• Requirements capture and analysis.
• Contribute to product design specifications.
• Plan and implement software tests (Model-in-the-Loop).
• Ensure adherence to existing software processes.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively.
• Interact successfully with stakeholders.
• Support system debugging in R&D laboratories.
• Work across geographical boundaries.

Your Profile

The successful candidate will likely have a few years of experience and a relevant degree in software or electronics engineering, seeking a role with greater challenges, higher profile, and more responsibility. This could be a first step towards taking more responsibility within a software team. Experience in the following areas is desired:

• Embedded C bare-metal development.
• Simulink or Model-Based Development tools.
• Understanding of control methodologies.
• Requirements engineering, software architecture design, software test planning, and documentation.
• DSP microcontrollers or real-time control.
