Our products: At our East Kilbride site, we are responsible for the development of a range of battery chargers used in varied settings including forklift trucks, industrial equipment and innovative warehouse automation systems. We operate in a growing and thriving industry which has a bright future as legacy vehicles move to electrification.
Your profile: This role will involve supporting R&D Engineers in the development of industrial battery chargers and power convertors. The successful candidate shall be experienced in working with high power, high voltage systems. They will be able to safely work with batteries and chargers, setup and use test equipment, and maintain test fixtures.
Your Challenge:
- Test industrial charging systems, comparing results to given specifications
- Construct, modify and maintain test fixtures and setups, following electrical diagrams
- Setup equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes and data loggers
- Assembly of cables and connectors for test setups
- Prepare reports to be shared with R&D engineers and management
- The ability to take ownership of your own tasks and work independently
Your Skills and experience desired, include a mix of:
- You will have a technical qualification, or experience in a comparable role
- Experience working with high power electrical systems
- Knowledge of product test procedures and the ability to follow instructions
- Practical knowledge of laboratory equipment such as Thermal chambers, power supplies and oscilloscopes would be ideal. Otherwise, the potential to transfer skills from another background
- The ability to work safely with high voltages, as our current products may be powered by up to 660Vac, 3Ph, input
- Great communication skills including the ability to document work and track progress against a plan
- Proficient with windows office tools, to be used to write clear reports and summaries of test results
- Knowledge of data analysis tools, CPK, Lean 6-Sigma a bonus
