The Field Service Engineer is responsible for the preparation and carrying out of commissioning, service, maintenance, testing and fault diagnosis of Delta Critical Infrastructure systems and associated batteries in accordance with customer requirements and applicable procedures, at different sites within the UK and Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing and maintenance on all systems and equipment delivered by Delta including batteries.
- Carry out live working procedures.
- Complete service reports, other current forms and obligations according to applicable procedure.
- Update CRM system with work results.
- Provide 24/7 technical support and emergency service on rotation basis.
- Answer the technical support phone/mail box during assigned schedule, respond to customers' issues over the phone and troubleshoot and/or research technical issues through to resolution.
- Escalate critical issues or technical issues according to applicable procedures when unable to resolve.
- Log all calls with detailed information according to procedure.
- Provide on-site technical support at customer's locations on installed system/products.
- Contribute to constantly increase own and the rest of the service department knowledge and experience in form of self-training.
- Recommend/attend different system and product courses or other necessary training for authorisation and safety related to profession etc.
- Work with customers, third-party contractors and other departments within Delta to ensure project, installation and system/product quality is maintained.
Qualifications
- Degree or ONC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Service Technician/Engineer (e.g. power electronics, UPS, or similar).
- Knowledge of DC Power, AC UPS systems, and critical infrastructure equipment (including batteries) is an advantage.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
- Good planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Analytical mindset with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Service-oriented, proactive, and team-focused.
- Knowledge of health & safety and quality standards.
- Fluent in English.
- Full driving licence required.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays.
