Responsibilities
- Conduct troubleshooting and repair of air conditioning systems for heavy equipment, support equipment, trucks, and light vehicles, as instructed by the immediate superior in coordination with the H.E. Coordinator.
- Ensure all installed air conditioning units are properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Attend to workshop and field service calls immediately whenever an air conditioning unit is out of service, as relayed by operators and drivers.
- Identify and request necessary parts and materials to replace defective air conditioning components in coordination with the Maintenance Planner.
- Assist the Auto Electrician with minor electrical repairs and troubleshooting as required.
- Conduct charging of environmentally friendly Freon for the air conditioning units.
- Understand and troubleshoot issues related to the air conditioning systems and cycles in automotive and heavy equipment, including components like compressors, evaporators, and condensers.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- High school diploma or Vocational/Technical course in automotive air conditioning; vocational graduates in Auto Electrician or Industrial Electrician are preferred.
- At least one (1) year of relevant experience in heavy equipment, trucking, or automotive industries.
- NC II certificate in auto air conditioning is desirable.
