Our client, a leading provider of diagnostic technology, supporting laboratories and healthcare facilities across the UK and Ireland is currently seeking two Field Deployment Engineerson a contract basis that will end on 31/3/2027 latest.
Your role will be to providing technical support for planned technology upgrades and infrastructure lifecycle activities across the installed analyser base.
About the Role As a Field Deployment Engineer, you will carry out planned field-based IT deployment activities, ensuring systems are upgraded, configured and maintained efficiently while minimising disruption to laboratory operations.
Your responsibilities will include
- Windows operating system upgrades and security patch remediation
- System imaging, reimaging and configuration
- IT hardware installation, replacement and commissioning
- Software installation and configuration
- Data backup, migration and restoration
- System validation and troubleshooting
- Supporting IT infrastructure and end-user technology
- Working closely with Field Service Engineers, Technical Support and Product Management
- Liaising directly with customers and providing professional technical support
- Travelling to customer sites across the UK as required We are seeking both a Southern and a Northern based Engineer.
Location details are available but the split comes roughly from Northern Home Counties.
About You We're looking for an experienced IT professional who enjoys working hands-on in customer environments and is confident troubleshooting technical issues.
You will ideally have
- 2+ years' experience in 2nd Line IT Support or an equivalent IT role
- Strong experience providing field-based IT support
- Experience with operating system deployment, imaging, configuration and troubleshooting
- Proven experience installing, replacing and commissioning PC hardware
