We are seeking a SQL Developer to support a major client project, working within a smart work stack and structured consulting delivery model. The role focuses on designing performant SQL assets and data models, tuning high‑quality application queries, and collaborating closely with analysts, product, and engineering teams to deliver reliably in a governed environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- SQL Engineering & Data Design
- Design, build, and optimise SQL objects including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and ETL/ELT logic.
- Develop logical and physical data models and maintain ERDs and data dictionaries.
- Tune SQL performance (indexing, partitioning, query optimisation).
- Implement validation rules, constraints, and reconciliation checks to ensure data quality.
- Pipelines & Environments
- Contribute to ETL/ELT pipelines and environment promotion using standardised patterns.
- Use version control (Git) and CI/CD workflows for database changes.
- Collaborate with platform/DevOps teams on capacity management, monitoring, and backup/recovery strategies.
- Smart Work Stack & Delivery Discipline
- Work within a structured delivery approach (story backlog, layered delivery model, reusable components).
- Apply consulting‑grade practices such as documentation, peer reviews, test execution, and quality checkpoints.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand‑ups, planning, retros).
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with BAs, product owners, and downstream consumers to translate requirements into robust SQL designs.
