We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Senior Product Manager / Business Analyst to join the inSPire Platform team. This is a hybrid role that combines product management and business analysis responsibilities, with ownership for a set of modules within the inSPire platform and accountability for driving their roadmap, delivery, and ongoing evolution. You will play a central role in shaping product direction while also ensuring business requirements are clearly defined, documented, and delivered to a high standard. Acting as the bridge between external clients, internal users, product leadership, and engineering teams, you will be expected to translate business needs into a prioritised and well-refined backlog that supports efficient delivery in an agile environment.
This role sits within the product organisation and requires close day-to-day collaboration with developers, internal stakeholders, and client representatives. You will be responsible for curating and maintaining the roadmap for your functional area, eliciting and documenting requirements, preparing user stories and acceptance criteria, and driving a dedicated development pod through refinement, sprint planning, delivery follow-up, and validation. The ideal candidate brings strong experience across both product and business analysis disciplines, is comfortable working in a client-facing context, and has the seniority to lead delivery conversations with confidence. This is a London-based hybrid role with mandatory office attendance, alongside the flexibility to work remotely from home on some days.
Key Responsibilities
- Roadmap Ownership: Define, maintain, and communicate the roadmap for a set of modules within the inSPire platform, ensuring priorities are aligned with client needs, internal business objectives, and overall product strategy.
- Requirements Definition: Elicit, analyse, and document business and functional requirements from external clients and internal users, ensuring clarity, completeness, and alignment with product objectives.
- Specification Ownership: Create and maintain detailed business specifications in Jira, including well-structured user stories, business context, and clear acceptance criteria for development teams.
- Backlog Management: Own and manage the backlog for your delivery pod, ensuring tickets are appropriately prioritised, refined, and ready for development.
- Sprint Preparation & Delivery Drive: Prepare and lead sprint prioritisation and backlog refinement sessions, then follow sprint execution closely to remove ambiguity, answer questions, and maintain momentum throughout delivery.
- Pod Leadership: Drive a full development pod in an agile context, ensuring engineering effort remains aligned with business priorities, dependencies are understood, and delivery expectations are clear.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a client-facing representative for requirements gathering, prioritisation discussions, clarification, and ongoing delivery communication.
- Delivery Support: Work closely with developers throughout implementation, providing clarification during technical refinement and ensuring solutions remain consistent with intended business outcomes.
- Testing & Validation: Perform functional testing on delivered tickets in our internal testing system to validate that requirements have been met prior to release or handover.
Required Skills & Experience
- Technical Skills: Strong experience writing high-quality business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in Jira or similar ticketing systems.
- Backlog & Agile Delivery Management: Strong understanding of agile delivery practices, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, prioritisation, and iterative delivery management.
- Technical Fluency: Good understanding of technical terminology and the ability to work effectively with engineering teams during refinement and delivery discussions.
- Data & Integration Awareness: Familiarity with relational database concepts, REST APIs, and JSON data structures sufficient to understand system behaviour, integrations, and data flows.
- User Interface Understanding: Ability to analyse and define user-facing functionality with an appreciation for usability, workflow, and interface behaviour.
- Testing Discipline: Experience executing functional or business validation testing to confirm delivered solutions meet agreed requirements.
Professional Experience
- Relevant Senior Experience: Significant previous experience in Product Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similarly aligned roles within a software, product, or change delivery environment.
- Hybrid Product / BA Exposure: Proven experience combining product ownership responsibilities with hands-on business analysis and requirements documentation.
- Client-facing Experience: Strong experience working directly with external clients and internal users to gather requirements, define priorities, manage expectations, and support successful delivery.
- Agile Delivery Exposure: Experience working with product and engineering teams in an agile environment, supporting requirements through refinement, build, testing, and release.
- Pod or Team Leadership: Experience driving cross-functional delivery teams or development pods, with responsibility for backlog quality, sprint readiness, and day-to-day delivery follow-up.
- End-to-end Ownership: Demonstrated ability to take ownership of requirements and product initiatives from initial definition through to delivery, testing, and handover.
Soft Skills
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate between business and technical audiences.
- Stakeholder Management: Confident and professional in dealing with clients, internal users, developers, and senior stakeholders across multiple levels of seniority.
- Organisation: Able to manage multiple priorities, balance roadmap thinking with delivery detail, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
- Ownership Mindset: Proactive, accountable, and comfortable leading from the front while remaining closely aligned with the wider product organisation.
- Analytical Thinking: Structured and methodical approach to analysing requirements, identifying gaps, resolving ambiguity, and making pragmatic decisions.
- Delivery Focus: Strong bias toward execution, with the ability to keep teams moving and ensure progress against agreed sprint and roadmap objectives.
Nice to Have
- Experience working on financial technology or capital markets platforms.
- Familiarity with structured products, issuance workflows, or related front-to-back operational processes.
