The Senior Business Operations & Commercial Manager plays a critical role in supporting Delta Capita’s business performance through strong commercial governance, financial planning, client contracting, and operational oversight. This role ensures the smooth functioning of business operations, manages commercial and legal risks, and supports key processes such as procurement, onboarding, and bench management. The individual is expected to operate autonomously, provide expert advice, and partner closely with leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Management & Operations
- Act as a strategic partner to business leads to support day-to-day operations, performance management, and planning.
- Drive operational excellence across business units, ensuring processes are efficient, compliant, and consistently applied.
- Prepare and present business reviews, management information (MI), and operational reports to senior stakeholders.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities across HR, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Delivery.
- Commercial & Financial Planning
- Lead financial planning cycles including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
- Monitor revenue, utilisation, margins, and pipeline, providing insights and recommendations to optimise performance.
- Manage pricing models, rate cards, commercial proposals, and profitability assessments for new and existing client engagements.
- Support bench management including forecasting resource demand, bench utilisation, and cost optimisation strategies.
- Legal & Contract Management
- Work closely with the Legal team to draft, negotiate, and review client and supplier contracts, NDAs, MSAs, SoWs, and change orders.
- Ensure contractual obligations are met and highlight risks or areas of non-compliance.
- Provide guidance on commercial and legal risk including indemnities, liabilities, data protection, and regulatory considerations.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of contract templates and commercial frameworks.
- Procurement & Vendor Management
- Oversee procurement processes including vendor onboarding, RFPs, due diligence, and commercial negotiation.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure adherence to SLAs, cost effectiveness, and performance.
- Maintain procurement records, approvals, and compliance with company policies.
- People & Onboarding Support
- Coordinate onboarding processes for new consultants, contractors, and internal staff.
- Ensure all compliance checks, equipment provisioning, and onboarding documentation are completed accurately.
- Partner with HR/TA to support workforce planning and resource allocation.
- Risk & Compliance Oversight
- Identify, track, and mitigate operational, commercial, and legal risks.
- Support internal audits, regulatory compliance activities, and policy governance.
- Ensure alignment with Delta Capita’s frameworks including information security, Modern Slavery, ESG, and client requirements.
Skills & Experience Required
- Extensive experience in business management, commercial operations, or a similar role within professional services, consulting, or financial services.
- Strong understanding of commercial contracts, legal frameworks, and risk management.
- Demonstrable experience in financial planning, forecasting, and commercial modelling.
- Excellent negotiation skills, particularly in the context of client engagements and supplier contracts.
- Experience managing procurement and onboarding processes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and partner at senior levels.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with core business tools (Excel, Power BI, CRM, financial systems).
