A wonderful opportunity to work for a small niche accounting practice and be exposed to real-world accountancy, servicing small and medium enterprise clients, inclusive of sole-traders and limited companies.
The candidate will be expected to familiarise themselves with the ethos of a small task-based firm, including greeting clients and answering calls, as well as carry out tasks expected of an accounts assistant, including:
- Day-to-day data-entry and bookkeeping
- Processing payroll through HMRC approved payroll software
- Preparing VAT returns and annual financial accounts (i.e. financial statements)
Our ideal candidate will have completed the AAT Level 3 qualification. However, we are also open to a motivated candidate having 3 A Levels at a C-grade average, with one A level related to the accounting field in some capacity, or having completed the AAT Level 2 qualification.
Working hours will be 10AM to 5PM, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break in-between. During the initial three-month probationary period, the candidate will work three days per week, before being offered a full-time position.
