As a Senior HR Advisor at Delt, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional, high-quality HR service across the organisation. Working closely with the Head of HR Services, you’ll lead by example, championing best-practice HR policies, programmes and services that align with our values and enable our business objectives. This is a hands-on, influential role for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys partnering with leaders, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to make things better.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing expert advice and guidance across the full spectrum of employment and workforce matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Acting as a trusted HR partner to line managers, supporting probations, performance reviews, absence management and complex employee relations matters.
- Building strong, collaborative relationships with managers, trade unions and staff representative groups to support a productive and engaged workforce.
- Supporting workforce planning activities by analysing demographics, bench strength and operational needs, and developing strategies to address workforce gaps.
- Coaching and advising managers on performance management, employee wellbeing, and addressing gaps in capability or behaviour with confidence and consistency.
- Promoting mental health and psychological wellbeing, helping leaders understand the impact on engagement, performance and organisational outcomes.
- Maintaining and developing HR documentation, including employee handbooks, policies and procedures, ensuring they remain compliant, relevant and fit for purpose.
- Overseeing the effective integration of HR systems and processes to optimise workflows, data quality and workforce planning insights.
- Leading or contributing to cross-functional projects and programmes, completing ad-hoc reporting and project work as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrable, progressive HR experience, including at least one prior leadership or senior advisory role.
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced, commercial environment.
- Strong employee relations expertise, ideally with experience of working in partnership with trade unions or staff representative groups.
- A minimum of CIPD Level 5 qualification.
- Experience within public interest organisations is desirable but not essential.
- The ability to build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and influence with credibility and confidence.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and change, applying sound judgement, pragmatism and common sense.
- Highly organised and detail-focused, with the flexibility to manage multiple and changing priorities without losing sight of quality or customer service.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire confidence through clear, practical and balanced advice.
- A flexible approach, with the willingness to work outside of core hours where required to meet the needs of the role.
