The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 £ per year.
Full time - 9.30am - 5.30pm with 1 hour breaks. The contract will initially be for 3 months as standard but is likely to be renewed beyond that for at least another 3 months. Based in Tooley Street, 36 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
Responsible for providing legal advice to and representation for Children Social Care in all safeguarding, adoption and non-care matters. Will have a caseload of care cases, non-care matters and PLO pre-proceedings cases. Will attend and provide legal advice at LPM Panel. Will cover duty sessions per month. Must ensure that case files are Lexcel compliant. Must assist and support the Head of Team in delivering corporate and Team priorities and objectives.
Mandatory requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor/CILEX or Barrister with rights to conduct litigation and up to date practising certificates.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years children law experience working in a local authority.
- Must have experience in holding care cases, DOLs, Secure, SGO, Adoption and Discharge applications, Disclosure and redactions.
- Able to conduct own advocacy on cases would be desirable.
