In this role, you will enjoy a varied workload and support a wide range of clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders up to the audit threshold
- Preparing personal and corporate tax computations and returns
- Providing bookkeeping and management accounting services
- Filing documents with Companies House and HMRC on behalf of clients
- Ensuring accounting records are maintained accurately and kept up to date
- Preparing and completing quarterly VAT returns
- Working in line with internal policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements
- Providing general administrative support to Partners, Managers, and the wider office
We are looking for someone who is confident in their technical skills, comfortable working with clients, and eager to continue developing. Ideally, you will have:
- A minimum of 1–2 years' experience working in an accountancy practice (essential)
- AAT qualification, or be part-qualified with ongoing studies, or qualified by experience
- Previous experience preparing accounts for limited companies and unincorporated businesses
- A friendly, positive, and approachable manner
- Confidence in dealing with clients and colleagues at all levels
- Resilience, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Initiative and the ability to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines
- A professional and team-oriented approach
- Good working knowledge of general IT (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic social media tools)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely
- Accuracy and a strong eye for detail
