DSL are looking to expand our Projects/Contracts Team with the appointment of a Projects Engineer. This role will involve ensuring the smooth delivery of contracts within agreed timeframe and budgets, including all resource planning, H&S compliance, tracking, documenting and reporting on progress and identifying and managing risks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quotes for new contracts as well as additions to existing contracts
  • Liaise with new and existing clients and undertake site surveys
  • Assist with ordering relevant materials and plant
  • Oversee and manage direct resources within the team
  • Plan and schedule labour resources for contracts including subcontractors
  • Attend site meetings and site visits providing technical support to site engineers and clients where required
  • Prepare quotations/tender documents prior to submitting to clients for approval
  • Prepare risk assessments, method statements and phase construction plans for work/contracts
  • Identify and manage project risks and any ongoing issues
  • Undertake and prepare all necessary H&S documentation for contracts and small works and update documentation as required
  • Track progress of contracts and update relevant documents
  • Report and keep Directors/Stakeholders up to date on progress, timescales and costs
  • Liaise with various clients to discuss requirements and ongoing updates on progress
  • Attend relevant internal management meetings

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification
  • Computer literate
  • Experience tendering / estimating commercial mechanical contracts
  • CSCS Card
  • DBS Checked
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to manage and deliver contracts on time and to budget
  • Preferably computer literate with project management software, CAD and knowledge of SimPro

Hours

Working 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm.
