Role Overview
As a Care Consultant, youâll lead mock CQC inspections and support care services in preparing for regulatory assessments. Youâll assess evidence, interview staff, review documentation, and provide actionable feedback to help services meet and exceed CQC standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct mock inspections across all CQC domains (Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, Wellâled)
- Review policies, procedures, care plans, and compliance documentation
- Observe care delivery and interview staff and service users
- Provide detailed feedback and improvement recommendations
- Support services with action planning and readiness tracking
- Stay current with regulatory updates and sector best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare management, nursing, or a related field.
- Recent work experience within the last 5 years in a compliance/quality role within social care â Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Mental Health Conditions, Complex Care, Supported Living, Epilepsy, Dementia, Domiciliary Care, Elderly Care, Residential or Nursing Care, Local Authorities, Eating disorders, Sensory impairments (hearing, sight, multiâsensory), Longâterm conditions, Physical disabilities â Preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' work experience as a current or exâCQC inspector delivering quality management and regulatory compliance with UK health and social care â Desirable.
- Inâdepth knowledge of CQC regulations, KLOEs, MCP/OLM frameworks, and regulatory updates.
- Handsâon experience with CQC/Care Inspectorate inspections, audits, and policy development.
- Exceptional report writing and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends and patterns.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, engaging diverse stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Ability to organise work to deadlines.
- Proven ability to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives and drive organisational change.
- Access to own vehicle with full UK driving licence.
- DBS registered with the rolling update system.
- Valid public liability and professional indemnity insurance policies.
