Our client is a specialist healthcare provider with residential care homes for young people transitioning to adulthood (16-24yrs) and is seeking an experienced and dedicated Operations Manager to join its senior leadership team. This is a key appointment at an exciting time of growth and development within the organisation. With their current services expansion across the West Midlands, they are looking for a care operations professional who can uphold their commitment to quality, drive improvement, and help shape the future of its residential children’s services.
The Role
As Operations Manager, you will report directly to the Director, Head of Safeguarding, and Head of Operations. You will be responsible for overseeing and supporting Registered Managers across the services, ensuring each home not only meets but exceeds the minimum CQC standard of ‘Good’. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining high-quality care and operational excellence across the region.

Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement improvement and performance plans for residential homes
- Conduct regular supervisions and appraisals with Registered and Home Managers
- Deliver management development sessions and support managers through the CQC registration process
- Assist in the development and monitoring of action plans following audits and mock inspections
- Support safeguarding investigations, sickness review meetings, and complex case discussions
- Work collaboratively with the referrals team to conduct assessments and ensure suitable placements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities and key stakeholders
- Travel to services as required to provide hands-on support and oversight
- Drive continuous improvement through audits, monitoring visits, and strategic planning
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Level 5 NVQ in Leadership and Management, or an equivalent social care qualification
- At least five years’ experience in a senior Registered Manager or Operations role within residential children’s services (experience in adult services will also be considered)
- A thorough understanding of CQC requirements and safeguarding legislation within residential care settings
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport
- Proven experience in operational management and business development
