Programme Description
What does this team do?
Merging or separating organisations presents significant challenges. Deloitte\’s Deal Transformation and Post-Merger Integration team partners with corporate and private investor clients on high-profile, transformational deals, combining robust operational and financial analysis with world-class programme management to deliver optimal outcomes.
We provide comprehensive advisory services throughout the deal lifecycle, leveraging deep expertise in finance / commercial, HR, operations, supply chain, and technology to ensure seamless integrations and separations that maximise value.
What skills and academic qualifications do I need?
You\’ll need to have obtained or be studying towards a minimum 2:1 in any degree discipline and have graduated by September 2026 for the Autumn 2026 intake.
What kind of work will I do?
Your role will allow you to work across a number of sectors, with professionals from across the M&A business, as well as the rest of Deloitte. You\’ll gain experience across our multiple teams, allowing you to develop an in-depth insight into the whole deal life cycle, covering all sorts of different aspects from pre- to post-deal. You\’ll gain experience through multiple lenses, including technology, commercials, operations, and financials.
There are two core capability areas that sit within Deal Transformation & Post Merger Integration – Integrations & Separations and Value Creation Services:
- Integrations & Separations: helping companies combine successfully after an M&A transaction by ensuring that the newly formed entity operates efficiently, achieves intended synergies and captures value from the deal – as well as partnering with companies to successfully divest, spin off, or carve out business units, achieving strategic goals aimed at enhancing shareholder value
- Value Creation Services (VCS) Our VCS team helps clients rapidly improve cash, liquidity, working capital and drive enduring growth in revenue and profitability, as well as addressing underperforming / turnaround situations.
This role is part of our three-year M&A rotation graduate scheme. You\’ll start in Deal Transformation & Post Merger Integration (your \”home offering area\”) and gain valuable experience through two further rotations within different M&A offering areas. This structured approach allows you to build a comprehensive understanding of the M&A business as a whole, develop key skills, and network across the team. You\’ll return to your home offering area at the end of the programme.
Where will I work?
At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you\’re in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.
All our work spaces are accessible, however, if you require further flexibility due to a health condition or caring responsibilities, please discuss this with our team. You can find further information on ourparent and carer policies here.
How will I develop?
As a Graduate within Deal Transformation & Post Merger Integration, you will complete an industry relevant qualification.
You\’ll begin with a comprehensive induction programme, equipping you with the skills and confidence to work with our clients.
Alongside this you will develop through a combination of on-the-job learning, in-house and external training. With support from your peers, project teams and people leaders you will become a trusted business advisor to some of the largest companies in the UK, using your newly developed commercial and technical abilities make an impact that matters.
