When a company buys another company or splits from a larger firm, known as mergers and acquisitions, it creates lots of challenges.
Our Transaction Services teams provide both due diligence and other deal advisory services across a range of areas on M&A transactions. This meansyou’llbe helping clients who are planning to buy, sell or take-over businesses with the execution of the deal. These are often large global deals with high profile clients.
What skills and academic qualifications do I need?
You’ll need to have obtained or be studying towards a minimum 2:1 in any degree discipline and have graduated by September 2027 for the Autumn 2027 intake. We have identified 10 core skills that are essential to all our roles in Early Careers. What kind of work will I do?
As a member of our Transaction Services team, you will help clients during the merger and acquisition process through analysis, advice and reporting.You’llwork on some of the largest and most complexacquisitions and joint ventures in the UK.
You will be allocated to an industry area to begin specialising in that area.You’llcombine market-leading approaches with cutting-edge M&A technologies to deliver projects for highprofile, often commercially sensitive deals. You will:
- Develop an understanding of the target business anditsdrivers, interpreting information memoranda,business plans and publicly available information on the target business.
- Review and evaluate important data projections and report on key issues identified.
- Participate in various marketing initiatives and practice development activities.
Where will I work?
At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you’re in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.

As a Graduate within Transaction Services, you will complete the world-renowned ACA qualification via the accelerated pathway.
This role is part of our three-year M&A rotation graduate scheme. You'll start in Transaction Services (your “home offering area”) and gain valuable experience through two further rotations within different M&A offering areas. This structured approach allows you to build a comprehensive understanding of the M&A business as a whole, develop key skills, and network across the team. You'll return to your home offering area at the end of the programme.
You’ll begin with a comprehensive induction programme, equipping you with the skills and confidence to work with our clients. Ongoing professional development will be provided through your project team, mentoring, and a dedicated buddy.
